About Laura
Hi! I'm Laura, a 4th year Chemist at the University of Edinburgh.
Having taken all three sciences and maths all the way through to A-Level I would love to help share my passion and knowledge of science with you.
I think studying science is a great way to learn more about the world we live in, and how we can make it a better place. It can be a challenging area of study so its essential to build a good foundation of knowledge before tackling exams or specialising at university. I would love to help you break down those mental barriers and consolidate your learning from school.
Having taken on four A-Levels I quickly learnt how to plan my revision and pace my study in order to ace my exams. I'd be more than happy to share my revision tips and notes with you so you can feel confident and in control leading up to exams.

I tailor my teaching method to suit each individual.
I start with a quick chat to get up to speed with what they have covered in school and the areas they need some extra help on. I will then set a few past paper questions and in order to identify any gaps in the student's knowledge. I then formulate a lesson plan to cover each topic focussing on those areas so each session is very much dictated by the student and their needs. I will set a series of mini tests to assess a students progress and give them feedback.
I am familiar with various exam boards and often like to add context to questions and topics from outside of the syllabus. I find this engages students and gets them thinking about the bigger picture and where their science qualifications could take them.
