About SCOTT
Hello, I’m Scott — an experienced Science teacher with over 15 years of teaching and a strong passion for Chemistry. I hold a B.Eng in Chemical Engineering, an MSc. in Refining and Petrochemicals, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Education.
I currently teach students aged 11–16 (KS3 and KS4), preparing them for GCSE exams. I’ve taught a range of curricula, including Cambridge Checkpoint, Cambridge IGCSE Chemistry, and AQA GCSE Science.
My lessons are student-centred, engaging, and interactive, using clear explanations, practical examples, and technology to make science easy to understand and enjoyable. I’m committed to high professional standards, safeguarding, and continuous professional development, and I aim to help every student build confidence and reach their full potential in a supportive online learning environment.

First, I try to assess pupil's previous knowledge in chemistry to ascertain my entry point. I use the student-centred approach with lots of hands-on formative assessments to check understanding as well as use of simulations/models to drive home difficult abstract concepts. My lessons typically span between 40 to 60 minutes.
