About Logan
My fascination with chemistry began with curiosity about how substances interact and transform in the natural world. I earned a B.Sc in Chemistry and an M.Sc in Chemical Education, gaining expertise in chemical theory, laboratory practice, and teaching methodologies. Over the past 11 years, I have guided learners of diverse levels, helping them understand complex chemical concepts and gain confidence in problem-solving. I teach with patience, empathy, and adaptability, breaking down challenging concepts into understandable steps. I use visual models, real-world examples, and interactive exercises to help learners internalise principles effectively. Many students who initially feel intimidated gradually develop both competence and confidence in chemistry. Outside teaching, I engage with research, curriculum development, and practical applications of chemistry, enriching my lessons with real-world relevance. Teaching chemistry is deeply rewarding because I help students develop analytical thinking, confidence, and a systematic approach to understanding the material world.

Chemistry becomes understandable when students see the logic behind atomic interactions, molecular structures, and chemical reactions. In my lessons, I guide learners through atomic theory, bonding, stoichiometry, thermodynamics, acids and bases, reaction mechanisms, and solution chemistry using structured explanations and visual aids. I emphasise reasoning and conceptual clarity alongside mathematical problem-solving to build confidence and competence. Lesson plans are customised to each student’s level. Beginners focus on fundamental principles, chemical nomenclature, and basic calculations. Intermediate learners study reaction types, energetics, equilibrium, and analytical techniques. Advanced learners focus on kinetics, thermodynamics, advanced problem-solving, and laboratory reasoning. Each session incorporates examples, guided practice, and reflective discussion to reinforce understanding. Chemistry lessons also develop analytical reasoning, patience, and critical thinking. As learners progress, they approach complex problems systematically and with confidence. My goal is to help students gain a deep understanding of chemical principles and the analytical skills necessary for academic success.
