About Craig

My interest in chemistry began with a fascination for how substances interact, transform, and create the world around us. I completed a B.Sc in Chemistry and an M.Sc in Organic Chemistry, which provided a deep understanding of both theoretical principles and experimental techniques. Over the past 11 years, I have guided students from diverse backgrounds, helping them overcome challenges, build confidence, and develop a systematic approach to problem-solving in chemistry.

I believe that chemistry education should be immersive, connecting concepts to practical examples, experiments, and real-life applications. Many learners struggle because topics are presented in isolation or abstract terms, so I focus on clarity, stepwise explanations, and engaging, hands-on practice. Lessons are tailored to each student’s pace, goals, and style, ensuring mastery, confidence, and long-term retention.

Outside teaching, I engage with chemical research, laboratory innovations, and educational projects that keep lessons relevant and dynamic. Teaching chemistry is deeply rewarding because I see students grow in analytical skills, confidence, and scientific understanding. Supporting learners as they develop competence, curiosity, and a genuine appreciation for chemical sciences is the most fulfilling part of my work.

Chemistry becomes exciting when learners understand the interactions of matter and the principles that govern chemical change. My lessons cover core topics including atomic structure, chemical bonding, thermodynamics, kinetics, equilibrium, organic reactions, and laboratory techniques. Each concept is explained through step-by-step reasoning, practical examples, interactive exercises, and visual representations to enhance understanding. Lessons are designed to help learners connect theoretical principles to experimental observations and real-world chemical applications, building confidence and mastery.

As students progress, lessons explore advanced topics such as reaction mechanisms, spectroscopic analysis, industrial chemistry applications, and environmental chemistry. I guide learners in developing analytical skills, performing calculations accurately, designing experiments thoughtfully, and interpreting data critically. Through problem-solving exercises, guided experiments, and practical demonstrations, learners gain hands-on experience while strengthening conceptual understanding. Lessons are tailored to individual goals, whether exam preparation, research, or professional applications.

Chemistry instruction also develops logical thinking, precision, and scientific reasoning. Many students discover confidence in analyzing chemical problems, predicting reaction outcomes, and applying knowledge to novel situations. My goal is to help learners gain both academic mastery and practical skills, preparing them for examinations, laboratory work, or a career in science while nurturing curiosity and intellectual engagement.
