About Ovia

My academic background includes a B.Sc in Chemical Sciences followed by an M.Sc in Analytical Chemistry, experiences that strengthened my understanding of both theory and practical reasoning. Over 8 years of teaching, I have supported students through challenging chemistry topics by emphasizing clarity, structure, and reassurance. Teaching has shown me that confidence grows when learners understand the purpose behind each step.

My instructional approach is patient and methodical. I focus on breaking down complex ideas into manageable pieces while maintaining scientific accuracy. Visual explanation, repeated application, and guided problem-solving are central to my teaching. I adapt lessons to each learner’s pace, ensuring they feel supported while still challenged appropriately.

Beyond teaching, I stay engaged with chemistry through reading, analysis, and continued learning. These activities enrich my lessons and keep my explanations grounded. Teaching chemistry is meaningful to me because I see learners grow more confident and precise. Supporting that growth remains one of the most rewarding parts of my work.

About the lesson

Chemistry becomes far less intimidating when learners understand how microscopic interactions explain visible change. My lessons focus on connecting chemical symbols and equations to real processes occurring at the molecular level. Topics such as atomic structure, periodic trends, bonding, stoichiometry, and reaction behavior are introduced through clear explanation and logical progression. I guide learners to visualize particles, track matter and energy, and understand why reactions behave as they do. Lessons are calm, structured, and supportive, creating space for curiosity and thoughtful questioning.

Lesson depth is adjusted according to learner readiness. Foundational learners strengthen core skills such as balancing equations, unit conversions, and interpreting chemical formulas. Intermediate learners develop confidence in calculations, reaction analysis, and laboratory-style reasoning. Advanced learners refine conceptual explanation, precision, and exam-focused problem-solving. Practice is purposeful, with guided correction that highlights reasoning rather than isolated mistakes. This ensures understanding remains stable and transferable.
