About Calen
I have over four years of experience teaching Chemistry, supported by an MChem that shaped my strong foundation in environmental and atmospheric science. I enjoy helping students understand how chemical reactions shape the air we breathe. Atmospheric chemistry is one of my main teaching areas, and I break down complex ideas into clear and simple explanations. I guide learners through smog formation and the chemical pathways that create harmful pollutants. Ozone depletion is another topic I explain with real-world examples and scientific clarity. Many students also come to me for help with acid rain and its impact on ecosystems. I make sure they understand how greenhouse gases work and why they influence climate patterns. My lessons are especially helpful for environmental science students who want a deeper grasp of air chemistry. I also support learners interested in climate policy and air quality management. Each session is designed to build confidence and strong scientific reasoning. I encourage curiosity and informed thinking. Exploring the chemistry of our atmosphere can be exciting and eye-opening. My teaching approach in Chemistry focuses on building clear understanding through deep analytical review. I guide students step by step across core topics and advanced areas. Biochemistry is a major part of my lessons because it connects Chemistry directly to life. We study macromolecules such as proteins, carbohydrates, and lipids with simple explanations. I also help students understand metabolic pathways and how enzymes control reactions. Enzyme kinetics is taught using structured case studies to make each concept meaningful. My background in life sciences strengthens the way I explain biological chemistry. I support learners in linking chemical principles with real biological functions. Problem-solving is included in every session to build confidence. I encourage students to think critically and ask questions. Each lesson is designed to help them achieve academic excellence.
