About Clara
Chemistry tutor with 10 years of experience teaching college students. Have taught around 300 students, helping many prepare for competitive exams, research projects, and graduate-level chemistry. My teaching is deep, structured, and research-oriented. I believe organic chemistry is logical and can be mastered with the right approach. My teaching approach for Chemistry is built on mechanistic reasoning and structural analysis. I connect organic chemistry to drug design and natural products, so you see the bigger picture. We break down reaction mechanisms into elementary steps, stereochemical outcomes into clear rules, and spectroscopy into logical interpretation frameworks. I encourage you to propose mechanisms and predict products. Motivation comes from solving advanced problems and discussing real research. I give honest feedback and adapt to your learning pace. For Chemistry, we cover nucleophilic substitution, elimination, addition, rearrangement reactions, stereochemistry, conformational analysis, IR, NMR, Mass spectrometry, and retrosynthesis. I also teach related topics like reaction kinetics, thermodynamic control, and protecting group strategies. I use case studies from total synthesis and my own students' successes. Sessions include mechanism drawing, spectra interpretation, and synthesis design. I assign homework like proposing a mechanism or interpreting an unknown spectrum. I keep detailed notes of each session. I also provide research articles and problem sets from graduate-level exams. For spectroscopy, I use real spectra from databases and teach step-by-step interpretation. For stereochemistry, I use 3D models and projections. I conduct regular mock tests and provide detailed feedback. My goal is to make you a confident and skilled organic chemist.
