Hello! I'm Cherrie, and I'm thrilled to be your guide on the wonderful journey of learning Mandarin. I hold a master's degree in International Communication. During my studies, I delved deep into understanding intercultural communication. My teaching approach is highly personalized. I start by assessing your current skills and understanding your goals, whether it's passing an exam, traveling in China, or connecting with Mandarin-speaking relatives. Then, I create a customized study plan just for you. In my classes, I use a mix of engaging methods. We'll have lively conversations, role-play real-life scenarios, and use multimedia like Chinese movies and songs to make learning fun. I'm always available outside of class to answer questions and provide extra support. I'm committed to your success. With me as your tutor, you're not just learning a language; you're opening doors to new cultures, opportunities, and connections. Let's start this exciting adventure together!

About the lesson

Firstly, I will have a general assessment of students' proficiency in terms of speaking, listening, and reading to identify the student's current level. It will help me to make a teaching plan. Secondly, I need to understand students' studying habits, like if they prefer studying by conversation or by reading and writing Chinese. Or they love learning by watching Chinese movies. Then next, I will create a curriculum based on each student's goals of which learning this language will be used for in their life, like traveling, career, or further study. I will employ interactive teaching methods by dialogue practice, group discussions, and multimedia to make teaching various and more interesting for students. At the end of each session, assignments should be given to students in all kinds of forms to test their learning outcomes. All the students will be asked to take a review every month to find out the strengths and weaknesses of my teaching for me to improve in the following classes.
