About Richard
Hi!
My name is Richard and I'm a francophone from NB, living in Ottawa for over 7 years. I started playing chess in grade 3 and represented my school at the district tournament. Hockey, baseball, golf and rugby had taken me away from serious chess, but in the past 2 years, I have rekindled my passion with chess and want to share this beautiful game everyone.
In the past year, I've played close to 3,000 matches, and have solved hundreds of puzzles and can literally play and talk chess all day. I offer in person, pandemic pending, and virtual sessions and would love to share my passion with you, and hopefully tap into your passion for chess.

I've known Richard for over a decade now.
He has been stuying chess for the past several years and we have often gone through openings and some of his games while he breaks them down and dicuss theory. His love of the game shines through his explanations which makes it even more interesting and exciting process.
Ultimately, what makes him a good tutor is the paring of his patience and his ability to adapt explanations to all skill levels and age groups while conveying that same passion for the game.
As a student, it makes the experience of learning all the more fun!View more recommendations
