About Ava
My interest in chess began during my childhood when I first learned the game and quickly became fascinated by the strategic depth behind every move. I enjoyed analyzing different positions and thinking about how a single decision could change the direction of an entire game. This curiosity eventually led me to study logical reasoning and mathematical thinking, completing a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics.
Over the past 6 years, I have taught chess to students who wanted to improve their strategic thinking and competitive skills. Some learners prepared for school competitions, while others simply wanted to enjoy the intellectual challenge of the game. Teaching these students helped me develop clear ways of explaining complex strategies.
My teaching approach focuses on patience, logical thinking, and careful analysis. I guide students through practice games and strategic exercises that strengthen their decision-making ability. Helping learners develop confidence in their thinking and discover the enjoyment of chess strategy is one of the most rewarding parts of my teaching journey.

My chess lessons focus on helping students understand the strategic ideas that guide strong gameplay. Chess is more than just moving pieces across the board; it is a game that strengthens logical reasoning, patience, and careful planning. In my lessons, students gradually learn how to evaluate positions, anticipate their opponent’s moves, and develop thoughtful strategies during a match.
Each lesson usually begins with a review of basic principles such as piece movement, board control, and opening development. Students practice organizing their pieces effectively while protecting important squares on the board. These early exercises help learners build confidence and understand how a strong position is created during the beginning of a game.
As students progress further, lessons expand into tactical patterns and deeper strategic planning. Students learn to recognize forks, pins, discovered attacks, and different checkmate patterns. We also analyze completed games so learners can understand why certain decisions lead to strong positions. My goal is to help students become thoughtful players who enjoy the challenge of strategic thinking.
