About Oniel
I'm a dedicated chess coach holding both FIDE Candidate Master and National Master titles (2200+ FIDE rating). With over two decades of experience, I've competed in dozens of international tournaments and earned the title of national runner-up in 2016.
Beyond playing, teaching is my true calling. I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Education and am a certified FIDE Instructor. Throughout my career, I've had the privilege of working with countless students: from kids and casual enthusiasts to ambitious tournament players, both online and face-to-face.
In my training, I encourage a mindset of continuous growth:
Don't wish it were easier; wish you were better. Don't wish for fewer problems; wish for more skills.

As a certified educator with professional teaching experience, I tailor every lesson to the student's unique needs and interests; whether your goal is tournament competition, casual recreation, or something in between.
I welcome players of all ages and experience levels, from young beginners taking their first steps to adult improvers refining their competitive edge.

Unlike traditional approaches that focus heavily on passive memorization, I believe in developing true playing competence. That's why understanding how to think and make decisions at the board is far more valuable than simply memorizing lines.
Dynamic & Interactive Methodology
In my sessions, we combine both active and passive learning techniques. It’s never just a one-sided lecture; instead, we use interactive exercises, game analysis, and structured practice to ensure learning is solid, engaging, and, as Carlsen always stresses, fun!
While having a consistent weekly routine helps us stay on track, I always keep things flexible so we can adjust our activities based on your needs, progress, and personal preferences.
