About Talia
My interest in chess developed through a fascination with logic, strategy, and problem-solving, which led me to pursue a B.A. in Philosophy and later an M.Sc. in Game Theory. Over 7 years of teaching, I have worked with students of different ages and skill levels, helping them develop structured thinking and confidence in competitive situations. I emphasize clarity, patience, and adaptability in my teaching approach. I tailor lessons to each learner’s level, ensuring concepts are understood deeply rather than rushed. I encourage students to reflect on their decisions and learn from both success and mistakes. Outside teaching, I study advanced chess strategies, analyze competitive games, and explore decision-making theory. Teaching chess is rewarding because I see students gain confidence, discipline, and analytical skills that support academic and personal growth.

Chess lessons are most effective when students learn to think ahead while understanding the logic behind each decision. My lessons focus on opening principles, tactical awareness, positional understanding, endgame techniques, and game analysis. I guide learners to recognize patterns, evaluate positions, and make thoughtful choices rather than memorizing moves. Each session is structured to build confidence and analytical clarity.
Beginner students focus on rules, piece coordination, basic tactics, and simple strategic ideas. Intermediate learners develop opening plans, tactical combinations, positional play, and structured thinking. Advanced students refine calculation accuracy, endgame mastery, competitive strategy, and psychological preparation. Lessons include game review, problem-solving exercises, and guided analysis to support steady improvement.
Chess instruction also strengthens concentration, patience, and decision-making skills. Students learn to manage pressure, analyze outcomes, and approach challenges methodically. My goal is to help learners enjoy chess while developing strategic thinking skills that extend beyond the board.
