About Glimmer
I am a self-taught sewist, and I have been making my own clothes for almost four years. What started as a coping mechanism for stress has blossomed into a life-giving hyper-fixation and endless source of passion. Sewing is for everyone. Sewing has helped me develop my endurance, sharpened my resourcefulness, and brought so much joy into my life. I am constantly learning new techniques and practices to refine my craft, and I am so excited to share this wonderful skill with others.

I specialize in teaching sewing machine basics, essentially a crash course covering everything you need to know about operating your sewing machine for the beginner or rusty sewist in need of a refresher. The first lesson is 2hr to comfortably get through all of the info. In this session we also go over basic hemming techniques. My goal after our first lesson is to have you feeling competent & confident to move on to your own projects!
For those looking to go a bit deeper, I can teach:
- how to read paper patterns & garment construction
- patchwork & quilting
- hand embroidery
- heirloom sewing techniques (smocking)
