About Jamie
I'm a recent BA Chinese and International Relations graduate and have near-native fluency in Chinese. As part of my degree I spent a year studying in Beijing and multiple summers in Taipei, so I can teach both Mainland and Taiwan Mandarin, in both Simplified and Traditional Characters. I passed the HSK 6 this year and I hope to help you do the same! In the past I've worked on Chinese English textbooks and have taught English classes in Bejiing and Taipei.

My name is Jamie, I'm a Chinese and International Relations graduate and HSK 6 holder.
Having learned Mandarin to spoken and written fluency as an adult, I can coach you through the challenges you'll face in your studies with first-hand experience. I've lived in both Beijing and Taipei, and I'm more than happy to cater to your preferred dialect!
Whether you're just starting your mā má mǎ màs, or you're trying to dissect the People's Daily, we'll find study methods that keep you excited and committed to your goals.
We can structure classes and materials around topics that interest you, or around the vocabulary and grammar you'll need to pass a specific exam, like the HSK. Since I've taken these exams myself, I have first-hand experience of what we can do to make sure you pass with flying colours.
