About Sea
To my students,
Hi, my name is Sea. I’m originally from China and have been studying in New Zealand for almost four years. During this time, I’ve developed a clear understanding of New Zealand culture and its friendly, welcoming social environment.
I’ve been working as a tutor for several mathematics and statistics courses at Victoria University of Wellington, so I’m confident in my teaching methods and my ability to explain concepts clearly and patiently.
My partner is from Singapore, and I have many Chinese friends from different countries in Asia. Because of this, I can not only teach the Chinese language but also share and discuss Chinese culture in a broader Asian context.
I love animals (I have a dog!) and enjoy connecting with people from different backgrounds. I’m really excited to meet you and also learn from you along the way.

My courses will start with a 50-minute session on grammar and vocabulary, involving discussion. It is followed by a 30-minute session focusing on a fun, quick verbal or written quiz with my student to solidify their memory. The lesson level can range from beginner level to Chinese poems/Chinese literacy analysis.
