About Kenneth Ken Wei
I'm a university student currently taking Civil Engineering course in University of Nottingham(UoN). Thanks to exchange students programme by UoN, I will be here for 10 months finishing my Year 3.
I'm a Malaysian, Chinese. I can speak multiple languages, which include English, Chinese and Cantonese. I learned both Chinese and English since I started my elementary school, so I have no problem communicating using both language stated above.
I was immediately recruited to teach in my high school as a part time teacher when I graduated. My former high school offered me the job because they acknowledged me as a responsible person due to my curricular achievement back then and understand my capability of transferring ideas and knowledge to students.
Since then, I taught KS3 Mathematics and Science at school. I work as a part time teacher for 9 months during the first year and 3 months each for the following 2 years during my summer break.
When I was a teacher back in Malaysia, I worked as a home tutor as well during night time. I taught mathematics, science, history and geography as a home tutor.
To be honest, I never taught Chinese language before. However, I'm a real Chinese lover. I start Chinese story telling competition during my primary school and I went to Chinese debate and Crosstalk Competition during my High School. Even when I am studying in English-Based University, I joined Chinese Debate Competition as well.
I'm not the kind tutor who follow the syllabus strictly. I like to observe students and understand their learning habits when I am teaching to make sure they can fully understand what they are learning. I always believe that different students learn and understand in different ways and I'm here to try my best to teach in the way he or she understand best. Cheers!
