About Nick

Hi I'm Nick! I've been working in the film industry for a decade as a cinematographer, camera operator, and aerial DP on over 100 movies, TV shows, and documentaries. I have a BFA in Film from Loyola University New Orleans, and I've studied at the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts. I have experience working on large blockbuster movies all the way down to small independent documentaries. My work has been in films nominated for the academy awards, won at Sundance, and shown in theaters, on Netflix, HBO, HULU, etc. I'm a current working cinematographer teaching to share my passion with you!

About the lesson

I've tutored in between jobs for the last few years both online and in person. I love tailoring what I cover for each person, beginner or experienced. I believe image making is best learned practically which is why I create assignments based on your path. I'm very passionate about cinematography and I love helping others improve their image-making skills. Part of my teaching includes a "bag of tricks" that you can quickly apply to your photography to make more intentional and engaging content. I'm also happy to share my experience in the film business and what routes may be best for you to succeed! I want to learn as much about you as possible and what areas you'd like to go over. I'm comfortable teaching photography, lighting, camera, aerial cinematography, etc. Having worked on commercial, documentary, and narrative projects, I can offer my experience and the differences each genre brings to a cinematographer's role.
