I give lessons to middle schoolers and high schoolers who are in the beginner or intermediate stages of clarinet playing. I start out by seeing where you're at skill-wise and then tailor the lesson so that you will get the most out of it.
Through learning the scales in all the octaves, and experimenting with different ways to play them, we will be able to exponentially increase your skill while enjoying the different techniques. Then, we'll pick a few pieces to practice with and have some fun with it.
The most important thing that I want you to get out of these lessons is to have fun while you're playing. Although you might play everything correctly, it won't become music until you have fun with it, groove with it, and feel it running through your veins.
I taught 12 underclassmen while I was in high school, and they were able to rise in the chair rankings. I was a member of the clarinet section in the 6th highest ranked high school marching band in the country, Vandegrift High School, and I was in the Symphonic Band. The Wind Ensemble was ranked #1 in the state of Texas this year, and the Symphonic Band is the second best concert band at that school. I graduated this year, and I would love to continue to spread my knowledge of the clarinet to others.
Elizabeth was my clarinet lesson teacher last year. I was in the 3rd Concert Band at our school, and her lessons were incredibly in-depth and full of positivity! I loved every second! This year, I even made it into our Symphonic Band!
