I follow the ISCE text book syllabus for java programming as I find this very organized and a good way to grasp the concept. I believe in conceptual and practical learning over plain lecture based learning. Assignments are a good way to practise whatever is learnt regularly as doubt clarification and debugging is the best way to learn programming.
