About Christopher
Hi! My name is Christopher and I am a trumpet and marching specialist from the University of Kentucky. I’m currently perusing my masters degree in trumpet performance, and I have received my bachelors degrees in music education and trumpet performance from Southeast Missouri State University. I have been a featured soloist with the 2023 Bluecoats Drum and Bugle Corps, was a member of the 2021 corps, and have served as principal trumpet in the Southeast Wind Symphony and Jazz Studio. By audition, I was selected as the lead trumpet in the Missouri Music Educators Association Intercollegiate Jazz Band and second chair in the Intercollegiate Concert Band. I have also performed in the first trumpet section of the Cincinnati Wind Band, Cincinnati’s professional band. I was a featured soloist in the World Adult Wind Orchestra Project in Schladming, Austria, in July 2024, and will be making my Carnegie Hall debut as a lead trumpet of the Cincinnati Wind Band in June of 2025. I have served as a visual designer, marching fundamentals teacher, and visual technician for numerous bands in Missouri and Kentucky, and have served as the visual coordinator for the Southeast Missouri State University “Pride of the Heartland” Marching Band. I was a co-concept designer and visual coordinator for the band’s exhibition performance at Lucas Oil Stadium for the 2023 Bands of America Super Regional in Indianapolis, Indiana, and was the visual and concept designer for the band’s performance at the 2024 Bands of America Super Regional Exhibition in St. Louis.

With lessons, I am more than happy to work with you on anything, whether that be band music, solo pieces, etudes, fundamentals, auditions (for ensembles, college, or drum corps) or whatever else you can think of! I am also able to help with marching, or any body work that you might find yourself participating in for marching band or a drum corps audition camp. Policies and Procedures: Private lessons are a great way to improve your craft and get ahead of the game with refined abilities. Working towards any goal you have takes time, focus, commitment and effort. I will do everything I can to help you achieve any goal you set for yourself. Students interested in taking private lessons should be invested in their practice, inquisitive, and ready to take on advanced challenges for improvement. Here is how my lessons operate... Scheduling: At the end of each lesson, we will schedule your next one. There will always be an effort on my end to keep lesson days and times more or less consistent from week to week. Due to school, concerts and work schedules, lesson times may vary. Students are expected to keep track of when their lessons are. Depending on school events, holidays, or other events, lesson times may be less or more than 7 days apart. Student Expectations: Students will... 1. Be as prepared as possible for each lesson. 2. Be willing to learn and apply new things. 3. Have fully operational equipment (instrument, metronome and tuner). 4. Notify me within 24 hours if a lesson needs to be canceled (unless it's an emergency). 5. Be up to date with lesson payments.

I took trumpet lessons from Christopher briefly in university and his care and concern to his students is unmatched in this field. He carefully guides and instructs students on technique, musicality, and proper musicianship while maintaining a welcoming and safe environment to learn in.
For the years I have known Chris, I have never met a more exceptional musician and human. Besides having phenomenal trumpet technique, Chris is dedicated to share his love of music with anyone in his path. He is a skilled teacher, making lessons fun and engaging to all students, beginner to experienced. He facilitates an uplifting and encouraging environment as he teaches and participates in ensembles. I could not recommend a better musician to learn from!!
Christopher is an amazing educator and musician. He is very talented and has a natural ability to connect with students of all levels. Aside from his teaching capabilities, he is an outstanding trumpet player with a lot of experience. He is exactly the kind of person you want to learn from.
I've known Christopher for three years, and he's one heck of a trumpeter, a well-rounded educator, and an even better friend. Christopher is always in your corner, rooting for you with his infectious energy and down-to-earth mentorship. As a trombone instructor myself, I highly recommend Christopher for his wealth of knowledge and experience. He truly has the heart of a teacher.
Christopher is a GREAT trumpet performer with a hefty resume to show for it; not only that but his ear training is elite in assisting others with polishing their craft. He does an awesome job at modeling exactly how he wants his students to play which is crucial in private lessons, always giving honest constructive criticism. He is skilled in both the classical and jazz field and can both play AND teach all styles.
I recommend Christopher because his passion for the craft is simply unmatched
Christopher is a fantastic trumpet player and musician that I’d recommend to anybody as a teacher. He has a large amount of intense experience on his instrument, and can translate that knowledge to his students very well. His impressive trumpet playing combined with his musicality and experience with many playing styles make him a wonderful teacher.
Christopher is not only an exceptional musician, but he is an educator with great communication skills, who can not not only explain important concepts thoroughly, but do so in a manner that is the most effective and impactful for each unique student. I’ve worked with Chris as a musician colleague for years now, and he is a wonderful person with a vast amount of knowledge.
