About Louise
I am a dedicated and experienced Flute tutor with over 11 years of teaching experience. I teach School students, College students, and working professionals who want to learn flute in a clear and structured way. My goal is to help students enjoy music while developing strong technical and expressive skills.
My teaching approach focuses on building a strong foundation. I guide students in correct posture, breath control, finger coordination, tone quality, rhythm accuracy, and musical expression. Lessons are planned step by step and adjusted based on the student’s level and goals.
I believe clear communication helps students learn faster. I explain techniques in simple language and demonstrate them during class. Accountability is maintained through regular practice plans and progress reviews. Integrity is very important to me, and I always provide honest feedback and steady support.
Along with flute lessons, I also teach music theory, notation reading, rhythm exercises, and basic performance techniques. I help students prepare for exams, auditions, and stage performances.
My unique strength is my patience and ability to adapt lessons for different age groups. I create a friendly, disciplined, and motivating learning environment that helps students grow with confidence.

My flute teaching methodology is based on Communication, Creativity, and Flexibility, providing students with a comprehensive, engaging, and personalised learning experience. I begin by assessing each student’s skill level, goals, and preferred learning style to design lessons tailored to their needs.
Clear communication is central—I explain techniques such as posture, breath control, fingering, articulation, phrasing, and sight-reading in a clear, structured, and understandable way. I encourage questions, feedback, and active participation to ensure students feel confident and motivated throughout their learning journey.
Creativity is at the heart of my approach. I encourage students to explore different musical styles, improvise, and create their own interpretations of pieces. I also include exercises in composition and expression to help students develop a personal musical voice. Flexibility allows me to adapt lessons according to the student’s progress, interests, and challenges, ensuring learning remains engaging, effective, and rewarding.
Alongside flute instruction, I integrate music theory, rhythm, sight-reading, and ear training to develop well-rounded musicianship. My methodology ensures students develop technical mastery, expressive ability, and performance confidence, while cultivating a lifelong love for music and a meaningful connection to their instrument.
