About Fleur

With more than 14 years of experience, I am a professional Flute instructor teaching School students, College students, and working professionals. I believe flute learning should be simple, organised, and enjoyable for every learner.

My tutoring style is student-focused and practical. I begin with basics such as breathing techniques, finger placement, posture, and tone control. As students progress, I introduce scales, rhythm exercises, and musical pieces to improve expression and confidence.

I value open communication and regular guidance. I explain concepts clearly and encourage students to ask questions. Accountability is ensured through structured practice routines and regular feedback. Integrity guides my teaching, and I always support students honestly.

In addition to flute instruction, I also teach music theory, sight reading, rhythm training, and performance preparation. I assist students with exam preparation and recital confidence.

My unique skill is creating personalised lesson plans that suit beginners, intermediate learners, and advanced students. I aim to make flute learning effective and enjoyable.

About the lesson

My flute teaching methodology is rooted in Communication, Creativity, and Flexibility, creating a learning experience that balances technical mastery with artistic expression. I begin by understanding each student’s current skill level, goals, and preferred learning style.

Clear communication is central—I explain techniques such as posture, breath control, finger coordination, articulation, phrasing, and sight-reading in a simple, structured way. I encourage students to ask questions, actively participate, and reflect on their progress, ensuring they gain confidence and motivation at every step.

Creativity is at the heart of my approach. I guide students to explore various musical genres, experiment with improvisation, and develop personal interpretations of pieces. I also incorporate exercises in musical composition and self-expression, allowing students to discover their unique musical voice. Flexibility ensures lessons are tailored to each student’s pace, interests, and areas of challenge, making learning engaging and effective.

Beyond flute performance, I teach music theory, rhythm exercises, ear training, and sight-reading, building well-rounded musicianship. My methodology ensures students develop technical precision, expressive ability, and confidence, while fostering a lifelong passion for music and a deep, personal connection to their instrument.
