About Emre
Emre Gokalp is an award-winning classical guitarist based in London. He has studied with internationally renowned guitar virtuosos and pedagogues, such as Ahmet Kanneci in Turkey, Michael Lewin, David Russell, Fábio Zanon, Stephen Goss, Timothy Walker in the UK, and Miguel Trápaga Sánchez in Spain. Thanks to his scholarship from the Borusan Kocabıyık Foundation, Emre graduated with Distinction from the Royal Academy of Music's Master of Arts programme in 2014. Upon completing his studies, he was awarded both the DipRAM and Frank Britton Prize for general and outstanding achievements. He won several prizes in international guitar competitions, including the 1st prize in the 1st International Guitar Competition "Paris Guitar Foundation" in France and performed in various music festivals and competitions in Turkey, Bulgaria, Armenia, France, Spain, Italy, United Kingdom and the United States of America. Emre collaborates regularly in chamber music performances and appears as a soloist in orchestras. He most recently made his London debut performing Joaquin Rodrigo’s Concierto de Aranjuez with conductor Stephen Ellery and the London Gala Orchestra. Emre's passion for music extends beyond his own performances, as he finds immense joy in sharing his knowledge and nurturing aspiring guitarists. With over 10 years of teaching experience, Emre has positively impacted numerous students of all levels, ranging from ages 4 to 80. He has taught at renowned institutions including the London School of Arts, Excelsis School of Music, and Woodside Primary Academy, where he has guided students through various classical guitar syllabuses such as LCME, ABRSM, RGT, and Theory up until grade 5. Emre's students consistently achieve exceptional results, with a majority passing their exams with distinction.

Hi! I am Emre, a classical guitarist living in London. I have graduated from the prestigious Royal Academy of Music and had countless students from the ages of 4 to 70. Most of my students passed their exams with distinction conducted by ABRSM, LCM, RGT Trinity College and many more. Doesn't matter if you are an absolute beginner or already playing for a while, I am committed to making our lessons enjoyable and engaging while we explore new facets of music. Together, we will embark on a fulfilling learning experience that will not only enhance your guitar skills but also nurture your love for music.
