About Jack
I first started teaching piano and music theory as a hobby eight years ago and have a small number of adult students alongside my 9 to 5. I have a really eccletic music taste and enjoy playing lots of genres including jazz, but I most enjoy playing Beethoven and Chopin.
As a performer, I have performed at concert venues and churches in London, Hertfordshire and Cambridgeshire and have previously held positions as jazz pianist in bars and restaurants.

My musical education is up to diploma level - I have an ARSM in Piano and also a Grade 8 in Music Theory.
I have experience preparing students for graded ABRSM exams in both piano practical, performance and music theory. I can also teach students who prefer not to take graded exams.
Whether you are a beginner, intermediate or advanced student, my lessons focus on all elements of musical understanding: technique, aural awareness, fingerwork and technical work, theory, music history and sight reading. I like lessons to be especially focused on developing good piano technique such as hand position, loose writs and finger strength in both hands.
I also enjoy teaching students who want one-off lessons to learn a particular piece, or develop an area of piano technique.
