About Yunyue
Inspired by my own mother, who dedicated her entire career to early childhood education, I have always aspired to become a teacher. I earned my undergraduate degree in music education. While I didn’t end up teaching in a traditional school setting, I have maintained a private studio since the early 2000s and have taught over 300 students, mostly children, along with more than two dozen adult learners. I hold a Doctorate in Musical Arts and have extensive experience as a performer. About eight years ago, I transitioned into a role as an arts nonprofit executive, which has helped me build strong connections within the classical music world. Recently, I’ve taken a step back from "computer keyboard" work—managing a music performance group—and I’m excited to return to the piano keyboard! Also, I'm a proud and happy mom to a five-year-old boy.

My Teaching Experience: • Yamaha-certified group class teacher in Shanghai when Yamaha first entered China in 2005 • Private piano studio in Shanghai (2000–2008) • Afterschool music instructor at Yinghua Academy (2014–2019) • Private piano studio in the Twin Cities (2014–present) Experienced Age: age 3 (Yamaha group class) ~ 80+ Degrees: Bachelor in Music Education, Shanghai Normal University Degree in Collaborative Piano, University of Minnesota-Doctoral University of Tennessee Knoxville-Master Lynn University Conservatory-Artistic Diploma Flexible schedule, unlike most other teachers or schools you would find. Teaching Material: Happy to use all books, but Faber Piano Adventure is preferred (for beginners).
