My teaching method is to figure out what our strengths and weaknesses are as musicians, because really, anyone can learn how to play. We will start our lessons with our weaknesses and end on a strong note with our strengths. Our lessons can also be adjusted to your musical preferences (i.e. we don't have to play Bach or Mozart all the time!) so that you actually look forward to practicing throughout the week! This isn't for a grade and it's a judgement free zone. I look forward to making music with you!
I have been performing since the age of 7 vocally, and playing saxophone since the age of 13. I am about to graduate with a Bachelors in Music Education to become a band director in May 2021. I have taught students between the ages of 9-21. If you wish to learn how to read music notation, we can do that. If you prefer to learn simple chords on ukulele, we can do that too! Lesson is paced on the person and individualized for each student.
If student requires more advanced printed exercises (which I provide), there may be an extra $5+ charge on the file, but you get to keep it once you receive it.
Cancellation policy: Since I am a high school teacher, I will require at least a 24 hour notice of any cancellations. We can reschedule at no extra cost to you so long as it is before 24 hours of the original lesson. If student fails to show up at the lesson or cancels last minute, there will be a fee of 50% of the lesson (AKA, if you don't show up for your $20 lesson without a notice, you will be charged $10 for the inconvenience). If there were emergency circumstances, we can work something out, no worries!
The kindest, sweetest and most patient soul! Rachel is born to be a teacher and will do everything to help you master your skill. I love her and I know you will too! Book today! You won’t regret it.
Rachel is my sister and I can honestly, and without bias, say that she’s a wonderful teacher. She has taken the time to teach her little niece the Ukele and my daughter went from shy to confident after a few lessons and she did wonderful during her class presentation. Rachel is attentive, caring and patient. She takes her time to know her student and shows great appreciation for their individuality. Without hesitation, I highly recommend Rachel as your next music or voice teacher.
