About Tân
Hello, I'm Tan! My pronouns are they/them. I've been teaching singing and music theory since 2016.
I'm a classically trained singer (with a special passion for baroque cantatas) but my musical interests and teaching expertise aren't limited to this style. I have taught both singing and theory students interested in pop, rock and musical theatre.
In addition to teaching, I continue to perform (and always looking for the next gig). My most recent performances include a cooperative lunchtime concert with classical guitarist Finlay Anderson at Greyfriars Kirk (Edinburgh, UK) and several other solo recitals during my time at The University of Edinburgh and Edinburgh College, UK.

Students of all levels and styles come to me seeking to improve their overall confidence in singing, repertoire, and expression.
After a few lessons (and, of course, some diligent practice) they start singing notes they thought were otherwise impossible to reach and become all-round more confident singers, with know-how on their own instrument's anatomy.
All levels and styles are welcome. Reach out for a free 30-45 min. consultation, I won't bite!
Online lessons are available only for casual lessons (audition/stage preparation, repertoire consultation) and vocal coaching (lessons that do not require technique teaching). General singing lessons are not available online.
My vocal studio is a safe space. On your first lesson, you'll be given a handy pamphlet with more information about the space, including amenities and contact details. Parents are welcome to sit in the studio.
