About Chiara

Hello! My name is Chiara, and I have been studying piano since the age of 6. I trained at the City of Edinburgh Music School from 12–18, before continuing my studies at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester. I am now back in Edinburgh, for my last year of my Master’s degree at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. Before turning 18, I achieved my ARSM Recital Diploma with Distinction (49/50), and since 2021 I have performed in recitals across the UK and Italy. Highlights include appearances at St Giles’ Cathedral, St Mary’s Cathedral, the C. Bechstein Centre in Manchester, and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, as well as performances in Brescia, Perugia, and Cassino. I was a semifinalist in BBC Young Classical 2024, and had the incredible opportunity to perform on Channel 4 for world-renowned musicians Mika and Lang Lang. Alongside performing, I am deeply passionate about teaching. I have over three years of private teaching experience, working with students of all ages and levels — from complete beginners to advanced musicians — including children with learning disabilities. I have also taught at the Chetham’s International Piano Summer School, leading workshops for adult amateur and intermediate students. In 2023, I was honoured to receive The King’s Award for Voluntary Service through my work with the Olympias Music Foundation in Manchester, where I volunteered as a piano tutor. For me, teaching is about more than just notes and technique — it’s about sharing my love of music, inspiring creativity, and helping every student discover joy and confidence at the piano.

About the lesson

Lessons are available in 30, 45, or 60 minutes to suit your needs and schedule. I have experience teaching complete beginners as young as 3 years old, as well as adult learners who are starting their musical journey later in life. Whether you’d like to progress through the grades (ABRSM or Trinity), learn to play your favourite pop songs with chords, or simply play for fun, I am happy to share my love and knowledge of music with you. With young children, I believe in fun, interactive learning and always keep lessons engaging. For older students, I adapt my teaching style to match each individual’s goals and personality. My approach is flexible and student-focused, ensuring everyone learns in a way that works best for them. Throughout my studies and teaching experience, I have developed strong pedagogical skills, working with students from complete beginners to those preparing for graded exams. I particularly enjoy laying the foundations for beginners, and I have also taught students of varying abilities, needs, and backgrounds — making teaching a truly rewarding part of my musical journey.
