About Saksham
Hey! I’m Saksham Agarwal, and I’m a singer. My singing journey began around 14 years ago when I was 5 years old, learning Hindustani Classical Vocals under my Guruji. Over the next 8-9 years, I gave exams and completed my Visharad from Bhatkhande Sangeet Vidyapeeth and Prabhakar from Prayag Sangeet Samiti in 2019. Since then, I have been teaching students locally along with my school. Currently, I’ve shifted to Mumbai and am pursuing a BA in Music Production and Composition from Whistling Woods International, Film City, Mumbai, along with Nipun from Bhatkhande and Grade 5 in Western Classical Vocals from Trinity College London. Alongside my training, I have performed in numerous competitions, stage shows, and gigs across cities. Recently, I had the honor of performing in front of Shahid Rafi ji (son of Mohammed Rafi Sahab) and Sonu Nigam ji, which was a truly special moment for me. I currently perform Bollywood, Sufi, and Hindi contemporary gigs in Mumbai. Singing and teaching Bollywood and Hindustani Classical music with true expression and feel is something I deeply love, and I continue to teach here in Mumbai as well. I have been teaching Hindi Bollywood music, ghazals, and Indian classical vocals to almost students of all age groups for the past 5 years, and I have been a student myself for the last 14 years. I prefer teaching my students by first clearing their basics because I believe that basics are the true foundation. In every class, I follow a structured approach with three main sections: - Nyaas: Focusing on getting each note strong and stable - Abhyaas: Vocal exercises to improve agility and flexibility as a singer - Aabhas: Learning Raag or Light music (Bollywood, ghazals, etc.) based on the course chosen by the student I believe this structured approach helps students build a solid foundation while enjoying their musical journey. My biggest strength is that, being a student myself, I understand the challenges we face in this musical journey and can cater to them in unique and effective ways.
