About Ali
I am an A-Level student studying Mathematics, Economics, Physics, and Further Mathematics with a strong focus on analytical thinking and problem solving. I tutor GCSE and KS3 students, aiming to create a supportive environment where I act not only as a tutor but also as a mentor and someone students feel comfortable learning with. My lessons are structured, patient, and focused on building confidence as well as improving exam performance through clear explanations and targeted practice.

My tutoring approach focuses on building strong foundational understanding while also training students to succeed in exams. I structure lessons so that students first understand the core concept clearly, then practise applying it in increasingly exam-style questions. I prioritise active learning rather than passive listening, meaning students regularly solve problems, explain their thinking, and work through mistakes during the lesson.
I use several key techniques. First, I break down complex topics into simple, logical steps so students can see exactly how to approach problems. Second, I use worked examples followed by guided practice and then independent questions to reinforce understanding. Third, I regularly use past-paper questions and mark-scheme analysis so students learn how examiners award marks and how to structure answers effectively. I also identify common misconceptions early and address them directly so students avoid repeating the same mistakes in exams.
I have strong academic experience in A-Level Mathematics, Economics, Physics and Further Maths which gives me a solid foundation for tutoring GCSE-level material. My focus is on explaining concepts clearly and helping students develop the problem-solving skills required to perform well in exams.
My lessons are aimed at GCSE students (typically ages 13–16) as well as KS3 students (ages 11–13) who want to strengthen their understanding before starting GCSEs. I support students at different ability levels, whether they need help building confidence with the basics or want to push towards higher grades.
