About Juniper
I am an experienced Chess tutor with over 10 years of teaching students from school to college levels. During this time, I have successfully guided around 250 students, helping them improve their skills, confidence, and love for the game. My teaching philosophy is centered on making learning both structured and enjoyable, combining strategy, tactics, and creativity in every lesson.
I focus on building a strong foundation in openings, middle-game planning, endgame techniques, and tactical patterns. I also emphasize critical thinking, decision-making under pressure, and game analysis, helping students understand not just what moves to make, but why. I believe that every student learns differently, so I adapt my lessons to each individual’s pace, strengths, and goals.
Communication, patience, and encouragement are at the heart of my teaching. I create an environment where students feel confident to ask questions, explore new strategies, and learn from mistakes. I also guide students in tournament preparation, teaching time management, mental focus, and strategic planning.
Many of my students have achieved excellent results in school and college competitions, showing steady improvement and increased confidence in their play. Beyond winning games, my goal is to nurture problem-solving skills, patience, and a lifelong interest in chess.
I take pride in making chess accessible, engaging, and inspiring for every student. Whether a student is a beginner or looking to compete at higher levels, I am committed to supporting their journey and helping them reach their full potential.

My approach to teaching chess focuses on helping each student understand the game deeply while building confidence and strategic thinking. I work with beginners, intermediate, and advanced players, guiding them to improve their calculation, tactical awareness, opening preparation, endgame technique, and positional understanding. I also explore related subjects such as game analysis, pattern recognition, time management, and psychological strategies to strengthen decision-making under pressure.
I believe that communication is key in learning, so I explain concepts clearly and encourage students to ask questions. Empathy is central to my teaching; I understand each student’s pace, challenges, and learning style, and I adjust my lessons to suit their needs. Collaboration is important, so we often solve puzzles, review games, and discuss strategies together, making learning interactive and engaging. Integrity is a core value I emphasize, teaching students to respect the rules, opponents, and the spirit of the game.
My methodology combines structured learning with creative problem-solving. Students start with fundamentals such as piece movement, basic tactics, and simple openings. As they progress, we focus on more advanced concepts like strategic planning, positional evaluation, and dynamic play. I provide game analysis exercises to help students recognize patterns, learn from mistakes, and apply lessons in practical games.
I also help students prepare for tournaments, working on time management, mental focus, and opening repertoire. Lessons are goal-oriented, but I ensure a supportive environment where learning is fun and rewarding. My aim is to develop not only strong chess players but also critical thinkers who enjoy the game.
Whether a student wants to compete seriously or play for enjoyment, I guide them step by step, combining theory, practice, and strategic insight. Every lesson is designed to foster improvement, confidence, and a lifelong love for chess.
