About Michelle

Hi, I’m Michelle. I hold a master’s degree in bioinformatics from Johns Hopkins, where I combined coding with genetics to solve real-world problems in biology and data science. I also have a master’s in education and am currently completing my EdD, which focuses on using technology in education, effectively. My foundation in coding started early—at age 12 on a TI-99/4A—and has grown into a lifelong passion. From leading K–12 tech classrooms to teaching coding at the college level, I specialize in helping learners of all ages build confidence in programming. Whether you're just starting out with Python or Java, exploring data science with Pandas or R, or creating full-stack web apps, I’ll guide you with hands-on, practical lessons that make the material click. About the lesson

Hi, I'm Michelle — a professional educator, developer, and coding mentor with decades of hands-on experience and a passion for turning complex concepts into approachable, real-world skills. I began coding at age 12 on a TI-99/4A and have since taught programming across K–12, higher education, and professional settings. Today, I teach college-level coding and hold a Professional Certificate in Coding from MIT xPRO ((concealed information) ) as well as two master’s degrees — one in Bioinformatics from Johns Hopkins and another in Education (with an EdD in progress).

Whether you're writing your first "Hello, World" in HTML, CSS, Java, Python, or JavaScript, building web applications with Django or Flask, analyzing data with Pandas, R, NumPy, or Matplotlib, or working with databases in MySQL, I provide clear, customized instruction for every skill level.

My approach is grounded in real-world, project-based learning — always helping you to answer your questions of: "Why is this useful?" and "When would I use this?" I tailor each lesson to your goals, whether you're aiming for academic success, preparing for a tech career, or simply learning for fun.

-- Please share your materials and what you would like to cover at least 24 hours before we are scheduled. It will help me make sure we use your time effectively.

-- There is no refund for last minute cancellations or no shows. Please give me at least 12 hours notice if you need to reschedule.

-- In the free intro, we will be getting acquainted and having an opportunity for you to let me know what you will be needing. Actual teaching and work will be covered in the paid sessions.
