About Maajid

I am a former student of Colchester Royal Grammar School, currently in my summer after A levels. I have received offers from some of the top universities in the country such as LSE (which forms the golden triangle of universities along with Oxford and Cambridge), UCL, Warwick and Bristol university. I have a genuine passion for teaching and improving people’s lives. I believe success should be shared and this means I do everything I can to not only help people who are struggling with maths, but to boost their confidence so that they can solve anything the examiners throw at them. Having tutored before, I am also very experienced in this field.

About the lesson

Maths is about developing problem-solving skills. A lot of maths questions will give you real-life problems and you must apply the mathematics to find a solution. Just listening to a teacher speak or learning by looking through the textbook will not help you get better at maths. That is why I teach in a unique, interactive, tried and tested style. I will make sure students understand the logic behind every single topic so that they can develop the skills to apply concepts to problems they may never have even come across — and that is the most difficult aspect of maths. Most importantly, this will prepare students for the most difficult questions in maths and if you can nail those, you can nail anything the examiners throw at you. I go through tonnes of exam questions alongside teaching the mathematical concepts so students will be ready for anything. And finally, I give crucial advice for actually sitting the exam: the frame of mind the students should be in, exam technique, how to stay calm under pressure and any other issues students may struggle with regarding exams. Having been through this strenuous process myself and having pulled through successfully, as well as having tutored many students previously, I can improve your mathematical ability substantially.
