About Yavuz
I am a dedicated mathematics tutor with over 10 years of tutoring experience, helping students develop a deeper understanding of mathematics and achieve their academic goals.
I hold a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, a Master's degree in Economics, and a Master's degree in Supply Chain Management from the University of Texas at Dallas.
My strong academic background and analytical experience allow me to simplify complex mathematical concepts and explain them in a clear, practical, and easy-to-understand way.
I specialize in helping college students succeed in College Algebra (MATH 1314) and related mathematics courses. Whether you are struggling with functions, equations, graphing, logarithms, or preparing for an upcoming exam, I tailor each lesson to your individual needs, learning pace, and course requirements.
My teaching philosophy focuses on understanding concepts rather than memorizing formulas. I emphasize step-by-step explanations, practical examples, and guided problem-solving to help students become more independent and confident learners.
I understand that college mathematics can feel challenging, especially for students returning to school after several years. My goal is to create a supportive, patient, and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making progress at their own pace.

I’ve had a great experience learning with Yavuz. He is patient, helpful, and takes the time to explain things in a way that is easy to understand. He creates a comfortable environment where I can ask questions without feeling embarrassed. I would definitely recommend Yavuz to other students looking for a supportive and knowledgeable tutor.
The passion that Mr. Yavuz has for mathematics is unmatchable. He teaches with detailed explanations, the most effective techniques, and makes his students fall in love with the courses. My children have been studying Mathematics, Pre-Algebra, and Algebra 1 for the last year, and they are more confident in solving the questions now. Highly recommend him.
