About Taylor
I am currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry at Oberlin College and have conducted environmental chemistry research at University College Dublin, where I have gained extensive experience applying chemistry, mathematics, statistics, and quantitative analysis to real research problems. While I am beginning my professional tutoring journey, I have regularly helped classmates understand challenging STEM concepts through one-on-one discussions and collaborative study sessions. These experiences have strengthened my ability to explain difficult material clearly and adapt my teaching to different learning needs.

I believe the best way to learn STEM subjects is by building understanding rather than memorizing formulas. My goal is to help students develop confidence by breaking complex topics into smaller, manageable steps and explaining the reasoning behind each concept. I adapt every lesson to the student's individual learning style, whether that means working through practice problems together, using visual examples, relating concepts to real-world situations, or reviewing material from previous lessons to reinforce understanding. I encourage students to ask questions freely and strive to create a supportive, patient environment where making mistakes is simply part of the learning process.
My lessons are typically 60 minutes long, although I am happy to adjust the length depending on a student's goals. I primarily teach middle school, high school, and undergraduate students in chemistry, algebra, statistics, quantitative methods, and general mathematics. Whether you're preparing for an exam, completing homework, strengthening foundational skills, or tackling advanced coursework, I will work with you to build both your understanding and your confidence so that you can succeed independently.
