I am an experienced educator with a master's degree in Communication Arts. I believe in instructing students about current events and how government and media works by immersing themselves in the various types of traditional and new media, and by using classroom and online methods to explore, identify, and understand the world around us.
I have been instructing students from a wide variety of ages and backgrounds in a public university for more than two years. My classroom sizes have varied from small groups to larger ones, and I'm comfortable with both. I am fortunate enough to have taught students who have gone on to successful roles at local television stations, radio groups, and public relations firms. Other students of mine have gone on to pursue their master's degrees in communications and media technology, a growing field with lots of opportunities.
I am a meticulous, curious, outgoing university instructor who is ready to start work on my doctorate in higher education. Right now, though, I am focused on taking the knowledge I have gained in journalism, government, marketing, and public relations, and helping others learn better about how the world is not such a large place after all, and that we all do affects each other. I have a strong research ethic, and have received honors for my thesis work at Austin Peay State University. I have recently accepted an invitation to join the APSU Chapter of Phi Kappa Phi, a nationally recognized honors society.
Micca makes the class very interactive and fun for her students. She is also very wise in her knowledge of broadcasting and radio and would be a perfect fit for any communications classroom
