About Simeon
I have tutored mathematics and science related courses for approximately three years. In high school, I was part of the Arista Honors Society in the DaVinci Program for Science and Mathematics at Benjamin N. Cardozo High School. This program not only focused and stressed the importance of such courses, but also allowed the students to help others who needed help in such subjects understand as well. This is where I first gained insight and a passion for teaching subjects such as Physics and Trigonometry. During my junior year of high school, I was assigned a tutee in algebra. At first, I was hesitant due to the fact that I'd never actually sat down to teach a subject to someone else. Fortunately, after the first few minutes, I became comfortable explaining and developing step-by-step procedures for the tutee to understand and follow for the next time she had to deal with similar problems. After a few weeks, she showed significant progress and, as a result, helped me realize that what I was doing as a tutor was correct and effective. After this experience, I continued to assist tutees that requested for help in the tutoring room, helping me build my skills and experience as a tutor and, most importantly, help the tutee understand the material he was having difficulty with. Eventually, I even began to help my fellow friends with homework problems in Physics and Mathematics via Skype and in person. The drive to help others understand and show them how to approach problems methodically became thrilling and throughout time, a great passion. Even now in college I offer assistance to any of my friends and others with problem sets and even review sessions before exams in conference rooms. Tutoring has and still is an important passion that I wish to excel in and execute for years ahead.

I am a recent graduate of the University of Rochester's Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering program. I am entering the Masters of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering program at Cornell University this coming August. I enjoy tutoring subjects that are pertinent to engineering such as physics and mathematics. I have gathered a great deal of experience tutoring at InstaEDU and look forward to using that knowledge to the best of my ability as a tutor at Superprof.
