About Gabriela

Hello, my name is Gabriela Sovero, and I recently graduated from Pepperdine University with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and a minor in Spanish. My academic background has given me not only a strong foundation in the Spanish language but also insight into how people learn best, communicate, and build confidence.

My love for Spanish has been with me ever since I was born. My dad was born in Lima, Peru and he has spoken Spanish with me from a very young age, allowing me to become fluent. Growing up in a bilingual household gave me a deep appreciation for the language and the traditions, history, and cultures of the Spanish-speaking world. Sharing that passion with others is one of the reasons I love teaching.

My goal is to create a positive and supportive environment where every student feels like they can succeed and feel comfortable asking questions. Whether you need help with homework, preparing for exams or improving your conversational Spanish, I am committed to helping you achieve your goals. I take the time to understand each student's learning style and adapt my lessons to meet their individual needs.

As a tutor, I value professionalism, reliability, and clear communication. I come to every lesson prepared and organized. I strive to make learning Spanish enjoyable and rewarding while building the confidence needed to use the language in real life.

About the lesson

My approach as a Spanish tutor is to create a supportive, engaging and interactive learning experience where students feel comfortable making mistakes and building their confidence. My teaching methods and techniques include reading and listening exercises, conversation practice to build fluency, grammar instruction explained in simple terms, and games and visuals to keep younger learners motivated. A typical lesson plan includes a warm-up, introducing new content, guided practice, communication practice and a review at the end. What sets me apart as a tutor is my patient and encouraging demeanor. My background in Psychology allows me to understand how students learn best and adapt my teaching methods to keep lessons engaging. My dad is from Lima, Peru and has been teaching me Spanish ever since I was little and I am now fluent. I want students to truly love and understand the language well and get excited to learn about Spanish. I teach lessons for elementary school or middle school students, and students preparing for exams, homework, or classroom assignments. I'm excited to help you reach your goals in a fun and supportive environment. ¡Vamos a aprender español juntos!
