About Thomas

I have tutored at the college level for two years, and mainly taught students in the same class as me. Every student I have taught has went on to pass the class, even when they initially planned on dropping the course. I have also helped out with middle school students through my schools tutoring program.

About the lesson

I am a recent College Graduate from Webster University's class of 2016, where I received a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics. While there, I studied in St. Louis, MO and London, England. This allowed me to get an education from a large range of professors across the world. Through this, I have learned many different styles of teaching Mathematics, as well as which students the different styles are best suited for. I have worked with many different students at the College level, many of whom were in the same class as me. This forced me to view what I was learning in multiple different ways, so that I could effectively tutor my classmates. From this experience, I gained a deeper understanding of Mathematics, which trickled down to fundamentals as well.

As a tutor, I start the lesson by seeing what the student CAN do, rather than what they can't. This is much more helpful for both me and the student, as it allows for me to pick up on any problem areas without needing to be told. It also shows me small problems that may be present in areas of math learned earlier, and those problems must be addressed in order to fully understand current lessons.

I look forward to helping you better understand one of the few absolute truths that the world has to offer!

Details

Price shown is for elementary through most high school students. Tutoring for high school AP math courses is 30 dollars per hour. The rate for college students is 35 dollars per hour. All students get $5 off a single lesson if they refer me to another student that signs up for an hour lesson.

There will be a travel fee if your location is 30 minutes or more away.
