About Kendall
I graduated from the University of Montana in May 2022 with a BA in Communication studies and a minor in Spanish. My main focus in college was on Spanish linguistics, allowing me to appreciate the rich diversity in the Spanish language.
Shortly thereafter, I left to travel and work in Chile. I spent almost a year working in hostels in various parts of Chile, and speaking Spanish, all day, every day. My 10 years of Spanish education had prepared me well, yet I continued to improve each day meeting Spanish speakers from different parts of the world with varying accents.
I've been instructing climbing for college students for three years, and have learned a lot about learning in that time. I try to make my approach as engaging as possible to keep you entertained and to retain the information.
Outside of instructing, I love to travel, climb, whitewater kayak, hike, crotchet, ski, and write poetry!

My strategy is focused on incorporating culture with language and making Spanish as fun and accessible as possible. This may mean getting assignments to listen to music, watch TV, or follow a recipe in Spanish to apply hard skills covered in our lessons together. My goal is to get rid of the shame and embarrassment that comes with learning a new language, and to provide the skills necessary to actually communicate with native Spanish speakers.
I can tailor lessons for day 1 learners to college level classes. Each approach will be suited for your personal goals and success.
