I focus on helping students truly understand biology—not just memorize it. My teaching blends clear explanation, visual learning, and active recall techniques so concepts actually stick. I break down complex topics (like cellular respiration, genetics, or microbiology pathways) into manageable pieces, then help students connect them back into the bigger picture. I also emphasize test-taking strategies, including how to interpret tricky questions and avoid common mistakes.
Each session is tailored, but generally includes:
A quick check-in to identify problem areas or upcoming exams
Targeted review of key concepts using diagrams, examples, and simplified explanations
Guided practice with questions similar to what you’ll see on exams
Active recall techniques (you explain it back, not just listen)
A short wrap-up with a study plan so you know exactly what to focus on next
