About Michael
Hello, my name is Michael Murphy (feel free to call me "Mike"). I am an Eagle Scout that is currently enrolled in college at Miramar Community College. Currently I am studying mathematics, science, and engineering. I excel in S.T.E.M. related classes and have often assisted other classmates in their studies. To this day, I strive to help others to fulfill their academic goals.

I developed my teaching style during my time in Boy Scouts. When teaching, I use the E.D.G.E. Method (Explain, Demonstrate, Guide, Enable). This technique has allowed me to instruct others in both academics and practical skills such as: knot tying, fire starting, and even cooking. When starting a large and overwhelming assignment, I break it apart into easy to complete steps so the tasks feel much less overwhelming and easier to understand. I can assist any middle school and high school students who are struggling with: starting assignments, understanding concepts, or solving equations. Math and Science have always been my academic strength and I would be delighted to help others achieve the same.
