My goal is to help my students gain confidence in their own problem-solving abilities. I provide them the support they need while still pushing them to figure out answers for themselves. Real learning comes from two things: a big-picture understanding of the material, and consistent practice. I provide my students with both, adapting my lessons to accommodate the way they learn best.
I'm a student at UCCS, I've always loved learning, and I want to share that excitement with students and help them succeed!
I've had a few volunteer tutoring positions in the past. In high school, I worked in my school's math center, where I helped other students who needed extra support. And currently, I'm a volunteer tutor at the library, where I'm working with a second-grader who's struggling with reading skills. I've also run a science and technology summer camp at Sylvan Learning, where I led science experiments and computer-programming activities for a variety of age groups.
