About Kayla
Hi, I’m Kayla! I’m a Hampton University Biology graduate and a Columbia University master’s student. I love helping students understand and enjoy science, math, and all subjects they need help in. My goal is to build confidence, make learning engaging, and support students as they achieve their academic goals. My favorite color is pink and my favorite food is chicken salad!

My tutoring method focuses on patience, clarity, and encouragement. I begin each lesson by reviewing what a student already understands, then carefully introduce new concepts with examples, practice, and discussion. I close by reinforcing key ideas and providing a plan for growth.
What sets me apart is my background as a Hampton University Biology graduate now pursuing my master’s at Columbia University in Narrative Medicine while preparing for medical school. I connect science to real life, helping elementary, middle, high school, and undergraduate students not only understand material but also gain confidence.
