About Shirin
My name is Shirin and I am an experienced substitute teacher who is looking for a new creative and challenging position where I can apply my skills from my educator background. For a few years now, I have worked with almost every layer in the school, from the very youngest children to those who are ready to step into the high school world. During that period, I have taught all school subjects. Swedish & English particularly.
In 2018, I took a break from substituting and set out on a new adventure on the other side of the world - Cape Town, South Africa. There I studied an English course from Cambridge University and practiced at an international school as a Residence Manager and administrator. Through that experience, I learned a lot about adapting to different cultural encounters, being flexible with different tasks and meeting people of all ages with different needs, challenges and goals.
Now I am back in Karlskrona and want to work with children and young people again - with my newfound knowledge and qualities that I brought with me from Cape Town. Working with children and young people is something that is close to my heart. No two days are alike! That is precisely why I am interested in a homework teaching position with you. Through my work as a substitute teacher, I have learned a lot about different teaching methods, to adapt the material to the student's needs and the best learning method. I usually start by planning the student's challenges and goals and then adapt the material and my help to it. Then I have close follow-up to make sure that the student has really learned.
