About Phyllis
My patience, understanding and compassion towards the students I have tutored over the years have made me a better tutor. The parents or individual expect to work with a tutor who can also evaluate and assess the needs of each student properly. 52 years ago, I majored in Business Education and English. I have been writing business proposals for years and have also edited websites for proper grammar and organization. I have used my experiences in business while tutoring in all areas of English. Most of my students are in pre-kindergarten through 8th grade but have also worked with other grades and adults.

When I first meet the student, I evaluate the areas we need to work on as well as helping with their homework. I specialize in reading comprehension, writing, vocabulary, spelling, and most of my students have been pre-kindergarten to 8th grade but have worked with adults as well.
