About Amber
I am a certified K-6 elementary school teacher with over 12 years of teaching experience. I have held many professional positions in schools in which I worked in small groups and one on one with students to boost their academic and behavioral skills, in order to prepare them for school and life success. I have worked with all academic skill sets in children ages 3-13, including special needs. For one school year, I was an aide to a boy with autism, who very much needed a lot of attention paid to promoting independence and motivation in school. I ended that school year in accomplishing the goal of getting this student on track as a first grader (age 7) and completing life skills (bathroom, school work, etc.) independently. I currently work part time and care for twin toddlers of my own!

I strongly believe in recognizing and teaching to the learning styles of each student. For example, if a student is a visual learner, I will more often use teaching tools such as charts, pictures, graphs, and book excerpts to enhance the learning process. I recognize that there are a variety of learning styles and that my teaching style must accommodate individual and group needs, and so, will differentiate.
