About Akram
Hi! My name is Akram and I'm in my first year of university, studying computer science. I've just finished my A-levels in Maths, Further Maths, Physics, and DT and I spent the summer volunteering my time to teach students from disadvantaged backgrounds.
I'm a hard-working and committed tutor who aims to get to know the student and cater for their specific needs- from SEN backgrounds to high-achieving students who just need a bit more help.
Every week, I aim to send hand-written notes at the end of the lesson so that the student can do their homework with ease, and so that they also have a handy revision guide outside of lessons. More often than not, the homework will be a few short (but challenging) questions to see whether there's been any progress; most students doing GCSE and A-Level don't have time to do long assignments outside of school homework so I only assess what I need to.
I'm very forthcoming and flexible, within reason- if the student comes to me with enough time before the lesson (and a good reason), I'm more than happy to extend a homework deadline or change times (within my available slots). I don't consider myself strict (and neither do my students), but I don't tolerate any nonsense!
