About Marcellinus
Hello, I am Marcellinus.
When a student struggles with mathematics, it is rarely a reflection of their intelligence; it is almost always because a foundational concept was explained in a way that didn't click for them. Math is built like a ladder; if a single rung is missing, climbing to the next level feels impossible. My mission is to help you find those missing rungs and rebuild your absolute confidence in your mathematical abilities.
As a professional with a rigorous background in Computer Engineering, logic and structured problem-solving are at the very core of what I do every single day. I bring that exact clarity, precision, and patience into my online classroom. I understand firsthand how intimidating math can feel when it is presented as just a dry list of rules to memorize. That is why I specialize in stripping away the academic jargon and translating complex topics into clear, everyday language that actually makes sense.
When you study with me, you can expect an environment that is highly encouraging, organized, and professional. We will use interactive digital tools to solve problems collaboratively, ensuring that every single mistake is treated as a valuable learning opportunity rather than a failure.
Whether you are looking to turn your grades around, conquer your homework anxiety, or deeply understand the fundamentals before a major exam, I am fully committed to meeting you exactly where you are. Let's work together to make math your strength, not your stressor.

My approach to mathematics is simple: I don't teach students to memorize formulas; I teach them to understand the "why" behind them. Because of my background, I look at math as a practical tool for problem-solving rather than a dry list of rules.
In my online classroom, I utilize a dynamic collaborative digital whiteboard and a hardware writing tablet. This means my lessons are highly visual and interactive. My teaching methodology follows a highly effective three-step flow:
The Intuitive Breakdown: We dissect a complex formula or theorem using real-world analogies, breaking it down into simple, manageable pieces.
Guided Problem Solving: We solve problems together on the shared screen, allowing me to see exactly where a calculation or logical error happens in real time.
Independent Mastery: The student tackles a problem on their own to solidify their confidence, while I provide immediate, constructive feedback.
Lesson Structure & Length
A typical lesson is 60 minutes long. I find this to be the absolute sweet spot for keeping a student completely engaged without causing mental fatigue. Every session begins with a quick 5-minute review of the previous concept, followed by core concept building, and concludes with a summary of what we mastered that day.
Who My Lessons Are For
My lessons are designed specifically for Middle School and High School students (Ages 11–16) who want to build a stress-free, rock-solid foundation in core mathematics. I specialize in helping students master:
Pre-Algebra & Core Numeracy (Fractions, decimals, percentages, and ratios)
Algebra 1 & 2 (Linear equations, graphing, solving for variables, and quadratics)
Geometry (Shapes, angles, area/perimeter, and basic theorems)
Whether your child is falling behind in class, feeling overwhelmed by homework, or preparing for upcoming high school exams, my lessons are tailored to meet them exactly where they are and build their confidence step-by-step.
Qualifications & Experience:
My qualification lies in my rigorous technical background. As a professional with a deep foundation in Computer Engineering, I use core mathematics, logic, and structured problem-solving daily. My informal experience comes from years of helping peers and younger students strip away the math anxiety, turning confusing classroom formulas into clear, everyday logic.
Best regards,
Marcellinus
