About Kai
My lifelong passion for mathematics started at a young age, when I began attending abacus classes at the age of four, and soon found myself competing in various mathematics competitions. By the time I reached fifth grade, my mathematical skills had surpassed those of my peers, and I began tutoring fellow students in math. Throughout my academic journey, I continued to tutor math, including teaching first-graders and assisting students with all their homework needs in aftercare programs. Currently, as a Computer Engineering major, I am immersed in a mathematically-intensive curriculum and am eager to share my knowledge and passion for math to help others excel in their own academic pursuits.

Having grown up with dyslexia and having had numerous tutors myself, I have learned that the most impactful tutors are those who understand what motivates their students and foster a supportive and friendly learning environment.
As a tutor, I would tailor every lesson to suit the unique learning requirements of each child, while also incorporating engaging and enjoyable elements to enhance their learning experience. This could involve utilizing techniques such as "speed round" questions or turning problem sets into games.
My tutoring approach would involve the following framework: firstly, reviewing the student's homework to ensure a thorough understanding of the material; secondly, addressing any areas of difficulty or challenges that the student may be facing; and finally, devising strategies to overcome these challenges in order to prepare the student for future academic success.
To position myself as a competent tutor, I would prefer to concentrate on instructing elementary and middle school students, as those were the grade levels I taught in my prior teaching experience.
